Taormina, Sicily

taormina, sicily | curatedlifestudio.com

The morning air was cool and filled with the sounds of doves gently purring. I shivered pulling my jumper tighter against my body. He wrapped his warm arms around me and leant his chin on my shoulder “it’s beautiful isn’t it?” The sun was dancing on the horizon revealing Taormina below; indeed, it was breathtaking. As the sky displayed a gorgeous palette of colours, I savored the morning stillness.

Before we left France it was snowing; the days were short and I can’t quite recall the last time I felt the sunshine caress my cheeks. Our time on the Mediterranean was the heavenly break we needed.

Exploring a new city, practicing my photography and indulging in fresh but simplistic cuisine inspired my soul. I felt so inspired tasting the unique and fresh flavours of Sicily, that in the coming weeks I am going to create some recipes influenced by our weekend away. A Classic Bruschetta with 5 Unique Bruschetta Toppings. Don’t worry there are more to come! 😉

Below, I have included some photos of our weekend. You can read more about our itinerary for an article we wrote for Top Tourist.

Yeah I adored the history too! It’s like a melting pot of information and everywhere you turn there is a story!
I didn’t get to try any ice-cream though; perhaps an excuse to return? 😉

So beautiful! It reminds me of my trip to Taormina, the delicious pizza I ate there and the beautiful views of Isola Bella. The trip to the Roman Theater was spectacular too, with Etna covered in snow behind it.

Where did you eat pizza? Unfortunately we didn’t end up finding any delicious pizza places!

I *loved* the Roman Theater, unfortunately the sun was quite harsh so I didn’t get any good shots of it!

These photos are beautiful. I especially loved the second to the last photo. These photos make me want to get out of the house and find my next great adventure (even though I’m an incurable homebody). 🙂

Thank you so much for your kind words! Don’t worry, I can be a little bit of a homebody too!
Is there somewhere close by you could explore? We rarely explore our own backyards! 🙂

Thank you! 🙂 Yes, it is Taormina in Sicily; it’s a lot greener and hillier than I expected!

I would love a bowl of your pasta, please! My goodness your shots are AMAZING! I’ve never been this… well, can’t really describe it but they’re beyond lovely. Sicily is one of my dream destinations! Every blog I’ve come across has recent travel posts, and I am dying to go on my own journey soon. I could cry with how your photos look so warm and inviting. 😀 I’m just blabbing, but you know what I mean, right?
